“Once a king or queen in Narnia, always a king or queen.”
Dear diary,
This book payed homage to all my childhood fantasies of finding a hidden magical world in plain sight, where time remains still in the real world while racing in the magical kingdom.
Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent to a countryside manor during times of war. There, Lucy is the first to find the secret of the wardrobe in the professor’s mysterious old house. She enters the world of Narnia… the world beyond the wardrobe. At first, no one believes her when she recounts her adventures, but soon, Edmund and then Susan and Peter discover the magic and meet Aslan—the majestic lion and the true ruler of Narnia. In a heartbeat, their lives are changed forever.
Narnia is under the control of the White Witch, who has cursed the land with eternal winter. As the children explore Narnia, Edmund is lured by the witch with promises of power. Meanwhile, Aslan returns to challenge the witch’s tyranny and help the children in the battle to free Narnia. In the real world, no time has gone by… and upon their return, everything is exactly the same as the moment they left.
It’s a tale of betrayal, redemption and bravery and is perfect for a weekend read!
