Keepers of the lost cities,Shannon Messenger

“blurry, fractured memories swam through Sophie’s mind, but she couldn’t piece them together”

Dear diary,

This book is for all the fantasy lovers! It’s the first book of the series, and I loved it. The book was so unorthodox, and it completely transported me to Atlantis. Twelve-year-old Sophie has a secret: she can read people’s minds, but she doesn’t know why or how. Everything changes the day she has an encounter with Fitz, a boy with an aura of mystery, who can also read minds…

From that day, everything changes for Sophie, she learns that there is actually somewhere she belongs, which is far from her ‘human’ family. Continuing to stay where she currently is will put her into unfathomable danger. In a heartbeat she’s forced to leave her whole life behind and begin a new life in a place which is, well let’s put this way, not like the place she used to live in before.

Sophie has to learn a bunch of new rules and skills to control her telepathic abilities, and not everyone is overjoyed with her arrival because there are secrets entombed deep in her memory that some people are dying to know. And they know no limits…these people are even willing to kill for these secrets.

This book was insanely immersive, addictive, and the cherry on top is that I have the edition with annotations, which is a game-changer! I am a fantasy girl at heart, and I really enjoyed the book.
