The Match, Sarah Adams

“I don’t need perfect. I just need real.”

Dear diary,

This book is one of the most heartwarming and feelgood books I have read. The storyline is absolutely wholesome. I love all the characters and the book doesn’t feel stretched even for a minute. I was in awe of Jake, constantly wishing to find someone like him.

Evie Jones, has been suffering from epilepsy every since she was a child. Soon she stumbles across Southern Service Paws, a service dog company and finds her match- Charlie. She moves out of her rich parents house- who are looking to get her married to a rich family’s son to be paraded around as a trophy wife- and lives alone in a small apartment( actually that’s un understatement too) with her dog Charlie. She starts working for Southern Service Paws. Having worked for Southern Service Paws for a few years now, she likes to think she’s prepared for just about any client meeting under the sun. How wrong is she.

The day she meets Jacob(Jake) Broaden, about potentially matching his daughter with one of their service dogs, she realizes its very possible to be attracted to someone and wish they got run over by a truck. He doesn’t give a good first impression. Unfortunately, she didn’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows her a different side of himself—One that’s smooth as melted caramel and warm as a cinnamon bun on a winter morning. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at her with fire in his eyes, making Evie dream of something she probably shouldn’t be… a family.

I love the other characters in the book too, like Joanna- who is more like a mother to Evie than her actual mother has ever been. I love how Sam(Jake’s daughter), at just 10 years old is so understanding but also a child full of life and love.

Overall this book was just what I needed right now, fluffy, heartwarming, funny and not at all heavy. Some might find the story line predictable after a while, but I enjoyed the book nonetheless.
