Catching fire, Suzanne Collins

“My nightmares are usually about losing you”

Dear diary,

This is the second book of the hunger game series and it’s even better than the one before. It had me on the edge of my seat with tears in my eyes most of the book. I refused to put down the book unless I finished it. And even when I was done reading it, I lay in bed awake for hours thinking what if this hadn’t happened? and what comes next?

Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. Katniss should be relieved, happy that she’s back home, so why is nothing the way she wishes it to be? Her best friend Gale is holding her at an icy distance, Peeta has turned his back on her, and there are rumors about rebellion against the Capitol—rebellion that she and Peeta seem to have fueled.

She has fueled an unrest she’s afraid she can’t stop. And as Katniss and Peeta visit the districts on the Capitol’s inhumane Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever—unless they prove to Snow and the districts that they are both crazily in love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying. There are secrets and extremely well-thought-out plans being passed around… The fire against the Capitol seems to have started long back. Katniss has absolutely no idea what lies in store for her.

It’s the 75th Hunger Games, the Quarter Quell and the Capitol has got something viciously cruel and ‘special’ up their sleeves… may the odds ever be in your favour.
