“The real heroes aren’t the people doing things; the real heroes are people NOTICING things, paying attention.”
Dear diary,
This book had me crying, laughing, and coming back for more. It made me realize life can be really unfair and extremely unpredictable. When 16-year-old Hazel, who is diagnosed with cancer, joins a support group, where she meets Augustus. One of them has an 80 percent chance of survival, while the other has 20. Hazel’s life is completely rescripted as she and Augustus journey together in the roller coaster ride of love and cancer. And like all roller coasters, this one has some fun turns and some deadly drops.
It’s a real love story, as it’s doomed. Like all other ones.
This book is one of my favorites, even though it had me crying most of the time. It made me realize what the purest love looks and feels like, and how some people would cross rivers and climb mountains or, in this case, fight cancer for each other. John Green truly has a way with words; the book didn’t seem boring or stretched even for a single page. I loved every single chapter.
I finished this book in a day, that’s how hooked I was to it. To be honest, that was also because I was on holiday, but still. Sitting on my settee with a bunch of snacks and this book was a real indulgence of a day.
Do both of them live? Or only one of them? If only one, then which one?
